Driving towards Sustainability

Formosa Taffeta Co., Ltd. has long been committed to various sustainable development action. As the world has been more aware of climate change and encourages enterprises to take action, the Company became the TCFD supporter in December, 2021, and disclosed the strategies and measures in response to climate change in accordance with TCFD recommendations to fulfill the social responsibility and take the transition to a low-carbon economy as vision.
To create a sustainable environment, the Company actively joined the Science-based targets initiative (SBTi) and committed on its website in August, 2022. The Company will propose our carbon emission reduction roadmap within two years in conformity with the requirement of SBTi. We hope to make an effort to climate change mitigation and move towards the vision of carbon neutrality in 2050.
Responding to climate change and sustainability development, the Company has set the “Sustainable Development Committee,” governed by the Board, to monitor the action taken to climate change and sustainability development. These action cover various energy saving and carbon reduction measures, such as use of low-carbon fuels, installation of renewable energy system, and development of environmental low-carbon products. In addition, the Company introduced AI technology with an aim to improve manufacturing process and energy usage efficacy.
The Company has participated in the Carbon Disclosure Project(CDP) to disclose the management strategies and performances of climate change, energy usage, greenhouse gas emissions, and water resource for consecutive three years. In 2021, the Company has attained the leadership level in CDP climate change and water security category, showing the recognition for our efforts on climate change and water management.
Upholding the philosophy of circular economy and environmental protection, we commit to energy saving and carbon reduction, water recycling, renewable energy usage and development of green textile supply chain with our business partners to reach the goal of sustainable business.
